If you miss this day, just get over it.
GET OVER IT DAY™ is based on the idea that everyone has something to get over, and the sooner the better. Strategically scheduled at the exact midpoint between Valentine’s Day and April Fools Day, Get Over It Day (or Get OVER It Day), March 9, is the perfect date to finally get over that ex-boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse/whatever/, and to resolve not to get fooled again.
Other things to get over: Those stressful school-, work- or home-related hassles; your unfounded fears and insecurities; the lingering memories of embarrassing moments; jealousy, envy, rancor, angst, schadenfreude; in short, YOURSELF.

(If you’re not sure what you have to get over, just ask your friends, family or coworkers.)
Get Over It Day was first celebrated nationwide in 2006; it was conceived in 2005 by Jeff Goldblatt (The Rejection Hotline), after it took him a little longer than he’d expected to get over an ex-flame. Get Over It Day struck a chord and became a pop-culture phenomenon when ABC’s Good Morning America and ESPN’s SportsCenter, among others, announced it to the world.
The website (GetOverItDay.com) has videos to help anyone get over what’s sticking in their craw, as well as an Official Declaration of independence from festering over stuff.
It also has an Official Poem, which reads, in part:
But as much as things suck, as bad as they get;
If you got cheated on, if you’re swimming in debt;
If you’re aging or balding or have got a cold sore;
Don’t ever forget: It could always suck MORE.
