Description:
Early 1900's Globe - Wernicke 24 drawer country store hardware cabinet, with oak front and metal drawers. This is a stackable unit just like the G - W bookcases. Looks just like the library card/index card files but the inside of the drawers look like scoops; shown in the 3rd picture. Don't think it was used for feed or seed or hardware since the drawers are not characteristic of that kind of wear. Not completely certain what this was used for but would look great on a staircase table to store many smaller items such as keys, valuable papers, documents, sort bills. All the drawers open effortlessly There is a cast iron trim on the lower right side with the name in it...camera wasn't good enough to get it pictured. Has all the brass pulls on every drawer. Only one drawer has a minor modification on the back side in the metal, not visible until drawer is removed, the back of the cabinet is fully enclosed which is beadboard. I have never seen another one. Cabinet measures 41 1/2" x 12" x 14 3/4". Would look great anywhere in your home.
